Dr. Vanessa Ellies
MD, FRCSC
Dr. Ellies completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario and her medical training at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. She trained in Ophthalmology at the Ottawa Eye Institute and subsequently completed a Pediatric Ophthalmology clinical fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. She is currently serving as chief of Ophthalmology at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
Dr. Ellies is fully bilingual and is happy to offer comprehensive ophthalmological care to patients of all ages in both English and French. She is delighted to be practicing in her hometown of North Bay.

Dr. Alexander Soon
MD, FRCSC
Dr. Alexander Soon was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University, as well as his medical degree at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. He completed a research fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at the University of Ottawa, and subsequently completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario, Ivey Eye Institute.
Dr. Soon joined Drs. Vijay and Ellies in providing comprehensive ophthalmological care to the North Bay community in the fall of 2021.

Dr. Niranjan Vijay
MD, FRCSC
Dr. Vijay is the founder of ESNO and has been practicing in North Bay since August 2015.
A native of Sudbury, Ontario, he completed his ophthalmology training at the esteemed Ottawa Eye Institute and received his medical degree from McMaster University.
An Assistant Professor for the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), Dr. Vijay welcomes trainees and enjoys collaborating with others to provide comprehensive ophthalmology education.
